You know how you always hear complaints about obese people bringing the cost of health insurance up, because of all the health problems that comes with weight? Well, I was reading it somewhere the other day (don't remember where...) that it really isn't the fatsos who make the cost of health insurance increase -- but the fit healthy folks that do.
Apparently, though it's true that the obese have more health problems, it is also true that they die younger (no longer needing said insurance), while the fit healthier people live longer, and aside from needing insurance for a longer time, they all face all sorts of health issues related to old age too. With people nowadays living much longer than they did the previous generations, you can see how that hikes the prices for everyone.
So next time you see a morbidly obese person around, be thankful -- their shorter life expectancy is helping you keep your health insurance affordable later on in life!
